Now that we've "redecorated" the O Brother Inc. blog to better reflect our new home in Argentina, we've decided to create a nook dedicated to our history in Peru. This post is to display photos of some of the most beautiful moments and people during the time we were present and ministering in the cities of Arequipa and Chincha, and a few others. For right now, we only have access to photos from about 2007 to 2010, as Lee's photos from his ministry in Chincha and Lima from earlier years must be on his older computer.
The roots of the church in Arequipa, along with a few of the wonderful people who invested time and love in them. One family eventually moved to Lima and is gathering and pastoring people there. A single lady got married and moved to Tennessee, USA, and another young lady moved to the north of Peru to pursue her career as a dental technician. We are blessed to know we discipled and were able to send these out to share all of which they had partaken! And that since then, the church has grown and people continue to invest time and care into them.

The baptism of our dear sister Paty.

The same day, baptising another dear sister Coki.

After the earthquake that destroyed much of central coastal Peru, we were able to help in the recovery by providing money to rebuild the house of a pastor friend in Chincha.

Sharing in some worship time with the pastor and his brother (I am 5 months pregnant in this photo!)

A couple of the pre-fab particle board houses that we were also able to fund for temporary shelter after the earthquake.

Visiting with a dear grandmother in the faith, the lady that Lee rented a room from when he first moved to Chincha, Peru in 2001.

Newer additions to the church of Arequipa, here is Sylvia and her son Gabriel who are part of the church with her husband Roberto. Her mother, also pictured, came to visit the city.
Some of the church with a young boy, Julber, who has undiagnosed tumors that were removed in Arequipa. Here we are visiting him in the hospital.

A scene at our second and last pastoral/leader conference held in Arequipa in 2008.
